Trim & Crown MoldingMitre-Tight. Caulk-Clean.
Trim is what separates a "nice room" from a custom-home room. Done right, it disappears into the walls. Done wrong, every gap is a shadow.
Crown molding, chair rail, wainscoting, and baseboard — they all share one rule: the seams have to be caulked, the miters have to be tight, and the paint has to match the ceiling or wall seamlessly. We take the time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Cost of crown molding in Carmel?
Standard crown (3"–5" profile): $8–$14/linear ft labor, so a 60-ft great-room run lands $480–$840 labor + $150–$350 material. Oversized / layered profiles (Carmel WestClay, Bridgewater): $16–$28/ft labor.
Can you match vintage trim in historic homes?
Yes. For Meridian-Kessler 1920s bungalows and Williams Creek estates, we custom-order or shop-mill profiles to match. Typical premium over standard trim: 40–80%.
Do you caulk every trim seam?
Yes. Color-matched paintable caulk on every crown-ceiling joint, every inside miter, every outside miter, and every wall-baseboard gap. Uncaulked trim shadows visibly after one season.
Can you match my existing baseboard profile?
Yes. We bring a sample piece to the lumber yard or millwork supplier and match by profile, height, and species. Most modern Greenwood and Carmel builds use stock profiles we can pull same-day. For 1990s–2010s Center Grove and Bargersville homes with discontinued profiles, expect a 5–10 day lead time for a custom run. We never mix profiles in the same room.
Do you do paint-grade or stain-grade trim?
Both. Paint-grade is MDF or finger-jointed pine, primed and painted on-site or pre-finished — the standard for 95% of Central Indiana homes. Stain-grade is solid poplar, oak, maple, or cherry, hand-selected for grain match, with stain and clear-coat applied per your sample. Stain-grade runs 60–120% more in material and labor because the joinery has to be invisible — no caulk to hide a gap.
Can you install crown molding on a 9-foot ceiling?
Yes. 9-foot ceilings are common in Carmel WestClay, Bridgewater, and newer Westfield builds, and they take a larger crown profile (5–7 inch) to look proportional. Smaller stock 3-inch crown looks like a stripe of trim on a 9-foot wall. We carry an extension ladder rated for the height and use a 12-inch compound miter saw to keep the long miters tight. Same caulk-and-paint finish, no extra setup fee unless ceilings exceed 10 feet.
How long does a full-room baseboard install take?
A standard 12-by-14 bedroom with one closet runs 3 to 5 hours, including demo of old baseboard, install of new, caulking, and one coat of touch-up paint. A whole first-floor baseboard replacement (great room, kitchen, hallway, two bathrooms) is typically a full day to a day-and-a-half. We move and reset furniture, vacuum the dust, and don't leave until the caulk is tooled.
