Interior PaintingTwo Coats. Minimum.
Paint hides nothing. If the drywall isn't feathered, the trim isn't caulked, or the edges are taped crooked — you'll see it every day.
Most 'cheap painters' cut 3 corners: they use one coat (looks fine for 90 days), they don't caulk trim gaps (shadows show immediately), and they tape lazy (wavy edges). We do all three right and the job lasts 8–10 years.
What's Included in an NHS Paint Job
- Move and protect furniture; drop-cloth everything
- Fill nail holes, patch small drywall defects, sand smooth
- Caulk trim gaps (this is what separates a pro job from a DIY job)
- Cut in by hand — no lazy tape, no wavy edges
- Two full coats minimum. Three on deep colors or color changes.
- Color-matched caulk tube + touch-up kit handed to you at close
- Clean up everything. You won't find a drop when we leave.

Frequently Asked Questions
Cost of painting a bedroom?
Walls only in a 10×12 room: $325–$475 labor + $60–$120 paint. Walls + ceiling: $475–$650 labor + $90–$160 paint.
How long does interior paint take to dry?
Modern latex paint is dry to the touch in 2–4 hours. Full cure takes about 30 days. Furniture can go back in the next day, but hanging pictures and heavy scuff contact should wait a week so the film hardens without marring.
Should I hire a professional painter for my kitchen?
Kitchen cabinet paint jobs specifically, yes. Spraying cabinets in a dust-free zone, with proper primer, requires a pro setup — a DIY brush-paint job on cabinets peels in 2 years. Spray finish lasts 15+.
What color should I paint my kitchen?
2026 trends lean warm — creamy whites (SW Alabaster, BM White Dove), warm greiges (SW Accessible Beige), deep greens (SW Evergreen Fog), and sage tones. For backsplash-heavy kitchens, a neutral cabinet lets the tile shine.
How long does it take to paint a 3-bedroom house?
A typical 3-bedroom, 1,800–2,400 sq ft repaint (walls, ceilings, trim, doors) runs 4 to 6 working days when occupied, 3 to 4 days when empty. Cabinet spray adds another 2–3 days because doors come off, get sprayed in a dust-free zone, and need a full overnight cure before reinstall. NHS schedules in continuous blocks so the same hands stay on the job start to finish — no rotating crews.
Do you spray cabinets or brush them?
Spray, every time. Doors and drawer fronts come off, get labeled, and are sprayed in a dust-free zone with a bonding primer plus two finish coats of cabinet-grade enamel (Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane or BM Advance). Boxes are sprayed in place with full plastic containment. A brushed cabinet job shows brush marks, peels at edges in 2–3 years, and never feels factory — a sprayed finish lasts 15+ years and looks new out of the box.
Do you move furniture and protect floors?
Yes. We move furniture to the center of the room (or out, if you prefer), wrap it in plastic, drop-cloth all floors, and tape off vents, switches, and outlets. Hardwood and LVP get rosin paper plus drop cloth; carpet gets adhesive runner where we walk. Everything goes back where it started before we leave — you should not be able to tell we were there except for the fresh paint.
Will the paint smell linger?
Modern low-VOC latex (Sherwin-Williams Emerald, BM Aura, Behr Marquee) is essentially odor-free within 24 hours. We ventilate while we work and the smell is gone by the next morning in most cases. Cabinet enamels and oil-based primers have a stronger smell that takes 48–72 hours to fully clear — we plan those around your schedule, especially in homes with kids, pets, or anyone with chemical sensitivities.
