FLOORING REPAIR

Flooring Repair Single Plank. Single Visit.

Flooring repair — Central Indiana

You dropped a cast-iron pan on your LVP and now there's a dent. Don't replace the whole floor — we can swap one plank.

Most flooring repairs aren't full floor replacements. They're one chipped plank, a squeak, a buckled seam from a slow leak, or a transition strip that came loose. We fix those without redoing the entire room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you replace a single damaged plank?

Yes — if a matching plank is available. The cleanest source is a leftover plank from your original install. If none exists, we can usually pull a SKU-matched plank from a big-box or specialty store, but tone, sheen, and wear will vary by floor age. We confirm match before cutting.

Do you do subfloor patches?

Yes — drywall, plywood, or OSB subfloor patches are part of standard scope. Cut out the failed section, sister joists if needed, install matching-thickness sheet stock, and refasten the floor above. Typical: $315–$745, depending on access and damage size.

Will the patch be invisible?

Depends on plank availability and floor age. A brand-new floor with leftover planks from the original install can look seamless. A 5+ year floor will show some sheen and tone difference even with a SKU-matched plank — sun, foot traffic, and cleaning products age the surrounding floor faster than a new replacement. We tell you up front what to expect.

Do you sand and refinish hardwood?

No. NHS does not perform full-floor sand-and-stain refinishing on hardwood or engineered hardwood. That work requires drum sanders, dust containment, and specialty stain crews — we refer to a specialty floor refinisher for it. We do single-plank replacement and click-lock board swaps.

Can you fix lifting or bubbled vinyl?

Yes for most LVP and vinyl-plank cases. The cause is almost always moisture from below or a missing expansion gap at walls. We pull the affected row, address moisture (or refer for a moisture remediation pro if it's serious), re-cut expansion gaps, and re-seat. Sheet-vinyl glued direct to subfloor is harder to save — we'll tell you on-site.

How long does a typical plank replacement take?

A single click-lock LVP plank with the new plank already on hand: 30–60 minutes including cleanup. A small group of planks or one that requires disassembly back to a wall: 1.5–3 hours. Subfloor patches add time depending on damage.

Do I need to supply the matching plank?

If you have a leftover box from the original install, that's the best match. If not, we can source a SKU-matched plank from a big-box or specialty supplier — we'll confirm the exact SKU with you before purchase. Materials are billed separately from labor.
