We're handymen, not locksmiths. We don't pick locks or rekey existing ones. What we do: pull the old lockset off, install a brand-new replacement — deadbolt, smart lock, lever, or knob — and hand you a fresh set of keys. If you need old keys matched, we'll happily drop them at a partner locksmith on the way back.

How much does lock rekey cost?
Lock rekey runs $45–$85 per lock when bundled into a service call. Replacement (new deadbolt or smart lock) runs $95–$225 labor plus the hardware. NHS has a $150 minimum service call; materials are additional. Final invoice is based on actual labor hours and materials — nothing billed without your approval.
Can you install smart locks like August or Schlage Encode?
Yes. Schlage Encode, August, Yale Assure, Kwikset Halo, and Level are the most-requested installs. We mount the lock, pair it to your Wi-Fi or hub (Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa), test the keypad and app, and walk you through it before leaving.
Do you do post-move-in rekey?
Yes. Post-move-in rekey is one of the most common calls — entry door, back door, garage entry, and any deadbolts can be rekeyed (or replaced) the same day so old keys held by previous owners, agents, or contractors no longer work.
How many keys can I get?
Standard rekey or new lockset includes a fresh set of keys (typically 3–4 per lock). Additional copies can be added on request. If you want all entry doors keyed alike to one master, we'll match them in the same visit.
Can you rekey if I lost a key?
Yes. We don't need the old key to rekey or replace a residential lockset — we work from the lock cylinder itself. If a lock is locked closed and there's no working key, that's a locksmith call (lock-picking is out of scope), but rekeying any unlocked or removable lockset is in scope.
Do you do safe combinations?
No. Safe combinations and commercial high-security or master-key systems are out of scope — we refer those to a dedicated locksmith. Residential rekey, deadbolt install, smart-lock install, and keypad locks are all in scope.
Will the new locks work with my existing keypad?
If the new lock is the same brand and family as your old one (for example, Schlage to Schlage Encode), the keypad codes can usually carry across or be re-entered. For brand swaps, you'll set fresh codes. We confirm everything works on the keypad and the app before we leave.
